The series begins with a double header and quickly gets into the action as some force wielding shadowy figures attack a ship carrying a prisoner "Morgan Elsbeth" who has knowledge of where Grand Admiral Thrawn may be. This sets up the premise for a likely season long plot where finding and possibly destroying Grand Admiral Thrawn as the goal. The episode continues with Ahsoka meeting up with a lost padawan, Sabine Wren who more or less lives the life of a rebellious young adult. Ahsoka asks her previous padawan to help decipher a map which may lead to Great Admiral Thrawn. The episode ends with Sabine being ambushed in her home by some droids and losing a lightsaber fight with one of the shadowy figures, Shin Hati who takes the map and disappears.

The EVIL GALACTIC EMPIRE has fallen and a NEW REPUBLIC has risen to take its place. However, sinister agents are already at work to undermine the fragile peace.
A plot is underway to find the lost IMPERIAL GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN and bring him out of exile. Once presumed dead, rumors are spreading of Thrawn's return which would galvanize the IMPERIAL REMANTS and start another war.
Former Jedi Knight AHSOKA TANO captured one of Thrawn's allies and learned of a secret map which is vital to the enemy's plan. Ahsoka now searches for the map as her prisoner, MORGAN ELSBETH, is transported to the New Republic for trial...

Commander Sabine Wren- Ahsoka Tano's former apprentice, hiding out on planet Lothal. has a pet cat (?). Has been out of practice with using the Force for a long time and was overpowered by Sain Hati in a light saber duel.
