After frequently driving by and seeing this place, I decided to give it a shot as the yelp reviews have all been favorable. As of this writing, the Bulla Gastrobar has three locations (Doral, Coral Gables and The Falls). As part of the Miami Spice event, which generally offers a three course meal to encourage people to sample various restaurants. The brunch menu features a three course prixe-fix which is what I sampled today.
First Course - Montaditos De Salmon Ahumado
Open faced smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese and truffle honey, served with sprinkled dried capers and onions. Delicious. With the correct texture of the bread and the saltiness of the salmon and capers balanced by the sweet and savory truffle honey and cream cheese flavor. Montaditos is basically a fancy tapas way of saying open faced sandwich and Ahumado is spanish for "smoked."
Second Course - Cochnillo Hash
Cochniillo (suckling pig raised consuming only their mothers milk) is shredded pork over potatoes, cooked with a garlic confit and topped with a poached egg. I love runny yolk dishes especially for brunch.
