My pledge to make this a regular stop holds true as I visit this very nice family run neighborhood Italian restaurant. I had just been working out and decided I wanted to reward myself and in so doing, undo all the hard work done at the gym, with a quick bite. I headed to Alaine's Osteria in Palmetto Bay. Always with a joyous ambiance, it still remains even at this odd late afternoon hour on a weekend. I particularly wanted to try any new dishes which may have appeared on the menu since last time. This time around, I had the Foie gras and the Filet mignon steak.

Foie Gras

I have to admit I have a certain weak spot for foie gras. Not sure why, as it is perhaps a somewhat controversial food that was banned in Chicago at one point, perhaps I feel I am being decadent when ordering it. Regardless, this dish hit the spot and I ate everything on the plate and had to refrain myself from licking the plate!

The steak was prepared magnificently and went well with the Bartolo sauce. I think next time I will try the porterhouse which was the first time I had seen it on the menu since my visits.

All in all a good meal and I definitely plan to return regularly.
