I had late notice that I would be working Homestead again and so this sparks my second trip to White Lion Cafe in Homestead where they have a menu that changes every Friday. Their lunch menu seems to have the Fried Chicken that people have been writing about in yelp reviews, so I may have to try this place for lunch to sample it, rather than dinner. But with an ever changing dinner menu, I like to come in for the surprises.
Calamari
Going through the appetizers, the calamari was good and there were no breaded claws or tentacles. So it appeared like a plate of onion rings, but one bite and you knew it was calamari. The tomato sauce had a little bit of spice and cheese in it, the small half cherry tomatoes were a nice touch when you needed that off sweet flavor.
Lobster Fra Dia Volo
At a website named EndlessVolo, how can I resist a dish named Lobster Fra Dia Volo? This was a delicious dish which had the right amount of spice (I love spicy food) as well as a tanginess. You were served a lobster tail on top of pasta with a red sauce. The shrimp were surprisingly large and tasty. Everything tasted fresh as expected.
