Ahsoka Season 1 Episode 8 - The Jedi, The Witch, and the Warlord

This is it! The final episode, and with strange timing the writers guild of America strike has ended and the negotiations of the sag-aftra strike continues with hope. After this episode, the finale, there will not be original TV from Hollywood for a while.

This episode wraps up storyline and plot of trying to prevent Thrall's return. The continuing journey and saga of Ahsoka an Sabine as they find Ezra and make their way to Thrall's ship in hopes of preventing him from returning. Thrall does a masterful job of being "a step ahead" of the Jedi at each turn as he strategically plans to keep Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra occupied as he makes his escape from this distant galaxy. It is a beauty to watch this aspect of the show.

From a more thrilling point of view we have a ton of action as tie-fighters are sent with the purpose of destroying Ahsoka's ship, the storm troopers are sent to slow down Ahsoka but are easily handled. This episode has the introduction of storm trooper zombies which are a fun twist. The ultimate showdown between Ahsoka and Morgan Elebeth could not have been forseen at the start of the season and was a great battle to watch.

Despite their attempts, Grand Admiral Thrall proves a brilliant strategist and manages to escape the galaxy, to return home , to the dismay of Ahsoka and Sabine. The silver lining is that Ezra also returns back. The show ends with a brilliant cliffhanger for fan fare with Annakin smiling on.

Analysis...

Characters of interest this episode

Ahsoka - Became "the bigger Jedi" this episode by providing unconditional love and support to her padawan.
Grand Admiral Thrawn
- continues to come across as a very accomplished calculating strategist. I love this character.
The Great Mothers
- seem scary in their mystery, especially given their ability to raise the dead.
Enoch, captain of the Guard
- did not have a large role in this episode.
Commander Sabine Wren -
seems to be learning and being able to use the force more and possibly becoming more level-headed.
Huyang - My favorite supporting character. Handy man extraordinaire, not only helps Ezra build a light saber but also fixes their ship.
General Baylan Skoll - very disciplined and seems to hear a calling from the Force on the planet of Peridea, he is definitely in search of a greater voice.
Shin Hati - apprentice of Baylan Skoll, does not have a large role in this episode, other than to show her aligning with the planet bandits.
Morgan Elsbeth - extremely loyal to Grand Admiral Thrawn, is rewarded as she appears to become a great mother. she has the grand finale battle with Ahsoka.
Ezra Badger - finally gets his comeuppance and returns home.
