Fabledom Encounters
With the latest "Fairytales and Community" update, a number of new buildings and encounters have been added to the game. After a few play throughs, here are some of the changes and encounters I've noticed:
New map generation is very nice
With the addition of two new buttons that allow you to turn off the water and hills. You can get the ideal flat land map. I leave the Ocean generation on now that we have fishing. The Hills are actually nice from a aesthetic point of view. In other maps I've placed all my commoner townhouses, hospital on the top of a plateau/hill which made things look really nice.
Fisherman's hut is over powered!
The farms eventually supply piggies, the wood eventually supplies coal and planks.the wheat eventually supplies the flour which supplies the breadmaking. The wheat also supplies egg production. Fish however, have no end product other than supplying food to the villagers and cause no unhappiness. They can be placed anywhere that is on the shore.
Food ratios in Fabledom
Keep in mind, this is early access, so things may change. However as of now:
- vegetables restores 10 hunger
- bread restores 50 hunger (must create windmill and bakery) -- bakery causes +5 desirability
- egg restores 30 hunger - coops cause -10 desirability
- pork restores 70 hunger - pigsty causes -10 desirability
- fish restores 20 hunger
- grapes restores 10 hunger
- grape juice restores 50 hunger
Finding Encounters
Easy peezy, mousing over the territories shows which encounters are available.
Bob Barkskin
I always pick the reduction in wood cutting buff which is a permanent buff as opposed to the regeneration trinket. This may change as combat is added in future updates. As of now, combat is not required or needed (which suits my playstyle).
Eric One Eye, the misunderstood cyclops
A permanent happiness buff to your town or a dps buff trinket for your hero. My playstyle supports the city happiness buff.
Giant Beanstalk
The Giant Beanstalk quest adds aesthetic beauty to the city as well as a really nice reward of additional gold (consuming wheat). In the beginning, the choices are one time food reward (100 vegetables for 20gold or the beans for 100gold) for the quest. The choice seems obvious, choose the permanent gold rather than a one-time small amount of food. Plus you have a great towering vegetable structure in your city!
Witch's Hut
A permanent removal of that annoying witch's curse. I'd do this quest as quickly as possible, but spend the nobility for it.
Fluting Faun
Boost to production (fasting cutting or faster gathering) of trees or stone, roughly 20% increase.
Emissary Gnomes
Missing Shoe
A quick, one-time reward that gives nobility or gold. I always pick nobility in these cases.
Red hooded girl
A quick one time reward of nobility or bread (plus losing nobility). Seems the obvious choice to pick the nobility.
Stone Giant
Trinket as a reward, the choices you have are either to spend nobility to receive it or to battle the stone giant for it.
Wishing Well
Trade gold for a chance of obtaining a decoration
